Total War: Warhammer Trilogy – All Tips & Tricks

Total War: Warhammer 3 is on its way to launch on Xbox Game Pass. So here’s everything to know about the Total War: Warhammer trilogy.

Total War is one of the best series in the strategy genre. From Rome: Total War to Shogun II: Total War; the franchise has taken players to many different periods in history. The games combine real-time strategy with diplomacy elements while also offering a massive campaign map where players get to wage wars and manage their kingdoms.

Apart from offering solid battle mechanics and immersive battle scenes, the games in the series also allow players to delve into the world of politics, intrigue, and diplomacy. While critically acclaimed Total War games created a huge player base over the years, the fans of Warhammer also joined the hype with the Total War: Warhammer trilogy.

Ruling empires and razing settlements in a land of fantasy resulted in an amazing experience. With the release of Total War: Warhammer, even history lovers appreciated the unification of the Warhammer universe with the strategy elements of the franchise. While the trilogy is not available on any Xbox console, the third installment of the series will be on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day.

About the Total War Trilogy

The first game was released back in 2016 for macOS and Microsoft Windows. It received favorable reviews and gained a score of 87 over 100 on Metacritic. As the tenth game in the whole series, it was also the first one to bring fantasy elements into the franchise. With 14 free and paid DLCs, Total War: Warhammer offers hundreds of hours of gameplay.

The sequel, on the other hand, upgraded almost every aspect of the first game and also refined some parts of it. With lots of new playable races and a larger map, Total War: Warhammer II comes with an increased level of replayability and a massive amount of content.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Xbox Game Pass PC

The most exciting news is, of course, that we are going to play the last member of the trilogy on PC thanks to Xbox Game Pass. Players who have a PC Game Pass subscription will get to jump right into the battlefield on the launch day of the next game.

The last title of the trilogy will come with a campaign map that is twice the size of its predecessor. We also know that the Chaos Gods will be present in the upcoming game with all of their forces. Here are all the playable factions of Total War: Warhammer III:

  • Khorne
  • Nurgle
  • Slaanesh
  • Tzeentch
  • Kislev
  • Cathay
  • Ogre Kingdoms (with DLC)

While these are the confirmed races for the new Warhammer game, fans believe that Hobgoblins and Chaos Dwarfs will be added to the game as well. There’s definitely a lot to take in when we talk about Total War: Warhammer III. The game will be released on the 17th of February 2022.

Will there be a Total War: Warhammer 4?

There is no doubt that the Total War: Warhammer trilogy has been a massive success for Creative Assembly. Unlike this series, none of the other titles in the franchise have been turned into the trilogy.

One of the reasons why the devs went with a trilogy is that there is a ton of content to cover. The world of Warhammer is huge and the games in the series cover the main regions of it. The upcoming title, for example, will focus on the eastern side of this land of fantasy and endless war. With the addition of Kislev and Grand Cathay, players will be able to manage the kingdoms that stand as bulwarks against the forces of chaos.

On the other hand, players are wondering whether there will be a new title in the future. For now, it seems quite unlikely for Creative Assembly to develop another game and break the trilogy. It is true that Total War: Warhammer games are printing money for the company. But the DLCs and other content will be more than enough to cover what’s left in the universe. For now, it seems like the third mainline entry in the trilogy will be the last.
